The work combines urban energy, expressive abstraction and contemporary portrait aesthetics into a visual language that feels raw, bold and unmistakably modern.

Graffiti-inspired marks, fragmented facial structures, layered surfaces and strong graphic elements collide with vibrant turquoise, red, yellow, black and white. Two Rubik’s Cubes form a striking focal point within the composition, introducing a visual tension between order, complexity and fragmentation.

There is an intentional balance between chaos and control. Geometric forms and repeated visual elements create structure and rhythm, while spontaneous marks, irregular lines and expressive gestures keep the surface energetic and instinctive.

Rather than following traditional portrait conventions, the piece explores identity through fragmentation, contrast and visual disruption. Individual elements overlap, interrupt and reshape one another, creating a portrait that feels constantly in motion.

As part of the African Art Series, the work continues the series’ exploration of identity as something layered, evolving and never entirely fixed.

Material & Technique
Acrylic paint applied in multiple layers with expressive brushwork, graphic marks and graffiti-inspired interventions. Visible textures and spontaneous details remain part of the composition, giving the surface its raw and immediate character.
